This is the seventh and final post in this series. Landing page.
So, we are at the end of our fast introduction to the Web Services Software factory.
I hope you agree that the point-and-click style development that is proposed by the factory aids your entreprise in developing software faster..
Opinion
WSSF has the following points that I really like
- reduces complexity (developers don't need to master WCF to be able to use it)
- capitalizes on GAT / GAX to enable you to quickly create standardized projects (number of project, naming rules and so on)
- good regeneration support
- designer surfaces
However, there's a (minor) number of things I don't like
- clunky interface for types
- naming conventions
- # of projects generated
- no integration with entlib
- no integration with the rest of the software factories

At least one of my gripes has already been solved: EntLibExtensionsWSSF
Avanade Netherlands released an inhouse extension for WSSF and Entlib 3.1 which allows you to include the PIAB into WSSF.
If you were wondering, this is one of the reasons I really like working for them ;).
